About me.
Deverie Hartness Tinnen DC
Hi, I’m Dr. Deverie!
After receiving my Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, I was working as a chemical engineer when I realized that I felt like I wasn’t really making a
difference in the world. I had a deep desire to have a real impact on people’s lives. Through much prayer and faithfully seeking, I was led to the chiropractic profession as the best answer for my career path.
I attended school at Northwestern Health Sciences University in Bloomington, MN and received my Doctorate of Chiropractic in 2007. Chiropractic blends my desires to help people live their best lives
through a hands-on, drug-and-surgery-free approach, with my engineering mindset to delve to the root of problems while using my gift of empathetic, healing touch.
I have practiced as a chiropractor since 2007, first as an associate doc for a year in Minnesota, followed by building a successful chiropractic office which I ran with my husband for 14 years in Madison, WI, and am now also practicing in Waunakee, WI. I am state board-certified as a Nutritional Counselor and nationally board-certified as an Acupuncture practitioner, which in the state of Wisconsin I practice through the art of dry-needling.
I find great satisfaction assisting people in developing healthy habits through chiropractic adjustments, active muscle release, targeted exercises, postural corrections, nutritional shifts, and lifestyle changes. I blend several different methods to form my own unique adjusting style. I use prone and diversified techniques, drop table, and Activator tool. I can adjust every joint in the body, including the spine, pelvis, arms, legs, jaw, skull and even ears. Patients are often surprised at the referred pain they are experiencing and the area actually needing correction.
I love listening to each patient’s body and what it tells me it needs, and crafting care specifically and holistically for that person. The society we find ourselves living in is fast-paced, busy, and stressful. The care I provide helps ease the body’s stress burden so that all of its parts can communicate effectively. It is also very helpful to associate painful areas with emotional triggers that patients commonly experience.
I am a mother of 3 darling children. I love to travel with them and have adventures near and far. We enjoy puzzles and games as a family. I love music; I sing, play a little piano, and am determined to learn
to play the guitar. I love to read books, articles, journals, and studies on natural health. I write music and poetry if I have any spare time. I thoroughly enjoy winter, snow, and cold, and love all the snowy activities like sledding, ice skating, downhill skiing, and most recently snowshoeing. In my loungiest moments I treat myself to reality TV shows on Netflix and playing video games.
